KUNDUZ, Afghanistan, Sept. 3 : Afghan police have arrested a drug smuggler and confiscated pockets of heroin in the northern Kunduz province, provincial police spokesman Abidullah Abidi said Saturday.
During routine checking of vehicles, police searched a car and discovered heroin powder packed in 33 pockets from a commuter who was attempting to take the contraband out of Kunduz city, the capital of Kunduz province.
Police took the alleged drug smuggler in custody for investigation Friday night, the official said.
Without informing about the exact weight of the illicit drug, the police spokesman said it was of “good quantity.” (Xinhua)
