Kathmandu : Voting under the election to the Member of House of Representatives and Province Assembly is in progress at Devchuli municipality-4 in Constituency No 1 of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat- Susta East).


The voting at Shanti Shrijana Basic School polling centre at Devchuli-1 was suspended on Sunday. Chief Election Officer of Nawalpur, Umesh Prasad Luintel said voting would be continued until 5pm today. He added that vote counting of Constituency No 1would be started today evening itself after the voting is concluded.
There are 980 voters at this polling centre. Security has been tightened at this centre.

66 percent voter turnout
Meanwhile, the voter turnout in Nawalparasi (Bardaghat- Susta East) district is around 66 percent, District Election Officer, Lal Prasad Sharma Bhusal, said. The voter turnout in both the constituencies of the district is 66.49 percent.
The total number of voters in this election constituency is 173 thousand 181, including 96 thousand 680 female, 76 thousand 500 male and one third gender.

The total number of voters in the district is 260 thousand 461.
There are 302 polling centres under 113 polling stations in the district. The district is electing two members to the House of Representatives and four members to the Province Assembly.
